Chicory Root Inulin In Soda Lean

Prebiotic fiber. Inulin is a soluble fiber made of chains of fructose units. Soda Lean takes its inulin from chicory root (Cichorium intybus), the same plant whose roasted root is used as a coffee substitute. Inulin is also found in onions, garlic, leeks, asparagus and bananas.

How It Works In The Gut

Human digestive enzymes cannot break inulin down, so it travels through the small intestine and reaches the large intestine. There, bifidobacteria and other gut bacteria ferment it, which is why inulin is called a prebiotic: it is food for the good bacteria rather than food for you.

Why It Is In Soda Lean

Fiber is one of the most familiar ingredients in appetite and digestive support. Soluble fiber can add bulk and take longer to leave the stomach, which is why people often feel fuller after high-fiber meals.*

On The Label

Chicory Root Inulin: 211 mg per capsule. Serving size is 1 capsule, with 30 servings per bottle. The Daily Value is not established.

Good To Know

Inulin can cause gas, bloating or loose stools, especially in larger amounts or in people with sensitive guts, including those who react to FODMAPs. Chicory belongs to the daisy family, so people with allergies to related plants should check with their doctor. Drink water with the capsule, as the label directs.
